There is no substitute for training specially from the film and television Institute (FTII) of India Pune.
If you are unable to join FTII it doesn’t mean that you cannot learn video editing. Now a days it is digital non-linear editing and there is so much of material and editing tutorials online. You can learn there is no doubt about it.
After you learn how to edit it will be important for you to learn different approaches towards organising footage and execution.
